HF Group Overview

HF Group is an integrated property and financial solutions provider that is registered as a non – operating holding company (under the Banking Act Cap.488) and regulated by the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK). The Group, which was previously known as Housing Finance, commenced operations on November 18th 1965, and has transformed from being a mortgage financier to a provider of integrated property and financial solutions with interests in real estate development, commercial banking, property finance and insurance.

Our drive as a Group is to put the customer at the center of everything we do and deliver solutions which make their dreams possible.

The company restructured its business and rebranded in August 2015, transforming from the single entity – Housing Finance, to the non-operating holding company HF Group with four subsidiaries:

 

HFC

HFC is the banking arm of the Group, offering fully-fledged commercial banking and property finance solutions. We offer competitive solutions which are customized to meet the unique needs of our customers. These include Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Trade Finance, SME banking, Asset Finance & Insurance Premium Financing, plot loans, construction financing, home loans, project finance and equity release solutions.

To support the commercial banking strategy and better meet customer needs, HFC has been investing in alternative channels: The MasterCard debit card, Internet and HF Whizz digital banking platform to enhance accessibility and convenience for customers.

 

HF Development and Investment (HFDI)

HFDI (previously known as Kenya Building Society) the property development arm of the Group is credited with the development of landmark estates including Buru Buru and Komarock. HFDI’s objective is to spearhead the supply of quality and affordable housing in Kenya. Recent property developments include:

HF Foundation

HF Foundation was launched in 2013 with a vision to deliver, facilitate and catalyze industry relevant and sustainable practical skills required by the building and construction industry through the creation of an ‘Army of One Million Artisans’ for Kenya. HF Foundation’s creation of an ‘Army of 1 Million Artisans’ initiative is an essential response to the acute shortage of formally trained artisans in the Building and Construction (B&C) industry in Kenya. The initiative is recognized as a Vision 2030 flagship project by the Government of Kenya.

 

HF Insurance Agency

HF Insurance Agency was incorporated in 2012 and provides competitive general and life bancasurance solutions in partnership with various underwriters.

Of note is the AfyaMed medical cover, launched in partnership with Britam. which provides flexible limit options, a wide scope of cover including pre pre-existing and chronic diseases and an age limit of 75 years.
